Dear Fellow Educator:

Thank you for your interest in The Learning Project. To learn more about the school I encourage you to explore the other pages of this web site.

The Board of Trustees of our school has always had a strong commitment to the people who work here, both faculty and administrators. This commitment is reflected in the salary and benefits that are highly competitive within independent schools and in the school’s commitment to providing working conditions that support both excellence in performance as well as personal and professional growth.

The school’s faculty consists of a Head Teacher and a paid Intern in each of the six classrooms, a Learning Specialist, and Head Teachers for Science, Art, Music, Physical Education and Spanish. The school’s Administration consists of the Head of School, an Administrative Assistant, the Director of School Advancement, the Events Coordinator, the Business Manager, the Bookkeeper, and the Admissions Director.

Candidates for Head Teacher positions should, preferably, have several years of classroom teaching experience at the level for which they are applying, as well as a masters degree in education. Candidates for the Intern positions should have a bachelors degree and, preferably, some experience working with elementary-aged children.

Faculty openings for the following school year will be posted as they occur under “job opportunities” on our web site. Occasionally, there are immediate faculty openings due to maternity leave and other personal situations and we encourage you to visit this site periodically to check if such openings have been posted. Administrative openings are also posted as they occur. Typically, interviews for next year’s faculty openings begin in February and continue through the spring and sometimes into the summer.

The Learning Project is particularly eager to review employee applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds.

Once again, thank you for your interest in our splendid school.

Sincerely yours,

Michael McCord, Head of School
