The
Learning Project actively seeks students from all areas of Boston. Most of our
students live within the city limits
and represent many of its diverse neighborhoods. About a third of our students
come from Back Bay, Beacon Hill and Charles River Park. There are significant
numbers of students from Jamaica Plain, the South End, Dorchester, and Charlestown,
and smaller groups from South Boston, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Roslindale, Allston,
Roxbury and West Roxbury. In recent years, students have also come from
Somerville, Malden, Medford, Brockton, Randolph, Winthrop, Chestnut Hill
and Chelsea. About one quarter of the students in the school are children
of color. The Learning Project also celebrates diversity in academic ability
and interests, and while the school can not accommodate every sort of learner,
it seeks to be broadly inclusive of different learning styles.
